New Year. Half-packed boxes. I am leaving Hyderabad.
Six and a half years here. Four in college on the city’s edge, two and a half working downtown. The first job out of college. The first bike. A flat full of friends – like-minded, carefree, the kind you don’t need a reason to stay up with. Concerts that ran past midnight. The city where I learned what it felt like to be free.
I’m going to a startup in Delhi. A hell of work, sleepless nights, stretched hours – everything’s on the menu. The challenge is the point. I’ll take it.
But I’m not writing about Delhi today. I’m writing about leaving.
I’m a Hyderabadi at heart now, in ways I won’t fully understand until I’m somewhere else. The city is vibrant, growing, alive – the people are the part I’ll miss most. If life ever circles back, I would settle here.
I had more to say. I’m running out of words and there’s too much left to pack.
Happy new year, Hyderabad. Thank you.
